Satan Cast Into The bottomless Pit, For 1000 Years!
1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
The devil has been stripped of his religion, he is stripped of his government, he is stripped of his army, he is stripped of everything that he had deceived people with. It is all gone now.
Here comes an angel with a great chain. The angel is going to take a chain and he is going to grab Lucifer, the old deceiver, the devil and throw him in the lake of fire. The dragon is going to be locked in the pit for a thousand years. During the time he is in the pit, there is going to be a period of peace for a thousand years, known as the Millennial Reign.
The one thousand-year kingdom of God is going to have begun on this earth. Satan is in his pit with a seal set on him. He has to stay there for a thousand years and he will be loosed at the end of the thousand years for a short season. How long that season is I don’t know, if you take 10 percent of a thousand years that is a hundred years. A hundred years is a short season when compared to a thousand years. It may well be a much shorter than that.
4 “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”
So now we have some interesting developments here. First we see the start of the Millennial Reign and the disposing of Satan. Now the thrones are setup. These thrones belong to Jesus Christ’s and the Saints that have returned with him. There is another group of people to consider. Now as you have been studying the Book of Revelation up to this point, you have seen the Rapture in chapter four, and during the following Tribulation period, have you not seen almost every righteous person of non Jewish origin destroyed? There are those who believe that the Rapture of the church does not happen until the end of the Tribulation. There is and can be no Rapture at the end of the Tribulation.
Who could be Raptured at the end of the Tribulation, who is left to Rapture? The Jewish nation is not Raptured when the Lord comes back again, they are on the earth and He comes down to them. They don’t go up to him. He comes down to them. There is no rapture at this time but there is a resurrection of those who died trusting Jesus Christ during the Tribulation. If you are planning on staying through the Tribulation period, then plan on giving your head, that will be required if you won’t take the mark of the beast. There is a resurrection of all who died in the faith during the Tribulation. Those brought back to life join the church in ruling and reigning for a thousand years. You can plainly see from the text that Christ’s throne, those that returned with the returning Saints’ throne are already in place when the beheaded martyrs are resurrected. They have gotten the victory over the Antichrist and his number.
Verse six tell us that the believers that are raised at this time complete the First Resurrection. The First Resurrection is not a single event, but it is a class of events or a group of events. Jesus Christ was the first one to be resurrected, the Old Testament Saints are second, the church is the third group, the 144,000 Jews are the next group, and finally the resurrection of the slain people that are saved during the Tribulation, all these together make up the first resurrection. There is another resurrection called the White Throne Judgment, we will see in the next chapter. This will be the resurrection of damnation and judgment for all of those that did not choose Christ as Lord and Savior. There are two resurrections, and blessed is the man that is in the First Resurrection. We are told that the people of the First Resurrection are going to rule and reign with Christ for a thousand years
There is going to be a thousand-year reign of peace on this earth? Did you know that the Bible literally teaches that there will be a time when the people of the earth beat their swords into plow shears? The earth is going to be healed very suddenly as Jesus Christ returns and begins His kingdom. There is going to be an instantaneous miraculous healing of the earth. The prophets speak of a time when the lame will walk, the dumb will speak, the blind will see, and the deaf will hear. Did you know all of the sudden the desert places will bloom? The Lord is going to heal this entire earth in a single moment, and there will be no more sickness, no more deformities, no more disabilities.

If you want to know what it will be like turn to Isaiah 65, Isaiah has many verses that will tell you what it will be like but this is one of my favorites.
Isa 65:17
17 “For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. 18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. 19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. 20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. 21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. 22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. 23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them. 24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. 25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD” |
What is Isaiah taking about when he says “new heavens?” When you are talking singular heaven, you are talking about the throne of God. When you say the heavens usually, we are talking about the atmosphere and the stars. Would there be a need to have new heavens? Yes, I think so we have had nuclear bombs, neutron bombs, bloody water and black skies, yes I think we need a brand-new atmosphere. You may ask, do we need a new earth? The answer is yes. Look what has happened to this earth, the oceans are dead, the rivers are dead, that mountains are fallen, there has been every form of death, debris, germ warfare, biological warfare and disease of every kind. There is little doubt that disease will be present during the Tribulation period, with all of the rotting corpses, and plagues.
The scripture says that
“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.”
Jesus says
“after I get through with making this one, you won’t even remember the old one.”
I believe it will be just like Adam and Eve’s garden when they first saw it, perfect, boundless atmosphere around the entire earth. I believe the poles will be perfectly upright like they were at one time, and I believe that any place that you live on earth will be as good as any other place to live. The land will be fertile, fruitful and there will be enough for everybody, that is the kind of place that Jesus is going to make for us. Then the verse goes on to say
“But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.”
Jesus is going to create Jerusalem to be the center of rejoicing and joy, why is that? Because one it will be the capital city of the world, the Jews will be there, Christ will be there, David will be there.
It will be the most blessed place on the earth. There are Old Testament prophecies that tell of a time when people will literally want to say to the Jews, let me be your slave, let me be your bondservant, I just want to be with you and be in the presence of the Lord. Jerusalem will be the teacher-nation of the earth, which God has always intended them to be. The blessed place. There will be no more Palestinian conflict. There will be no more crying there. I tell you there will probably be some Syrians, Iraqis, some Egyptians and others that are going to have to leave what they thought were theirs. At that time the full covenant with Abraham will be fulfilled. The Jews will have a much larger nation than the little strip of land that they are clinging too now. Their land will reach all the way to the Euphrates River.
There are a lot of people trespassing on what God gave the Jews. The people of Israel are going to get of their promised land back. Isaiah it goes on to say
“There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.”
The longevity will also be restored to the earth. No longer will a man cut down in the middle of his life. When the kingdom has come, people will live for a thousand years or more. Our reference says there is not going to be any infants dying, I think that would include banning abortion. How would you like to be an abortion doctor and face God for what you did, face all those babies that you aborted, that will happen at your judgment? A child will die at a hundred years old, which means that if you died at only a hundred you are just a youngster compared to what your life span should have been. We also understand that death will still be with us, but it is uncommon, it is a major tragedy when it happens. If our life span is now seventy years long and a child dies at the age of seven don’t we call them just a baby? Don’t we say that their whole life was ahead of them? If the new life span is a thousand years or better, couldn’t we say the same thing about a man dyeing at a hundred, he had his whole life ahead of him? You know some of the men of the Old Testament that lived that long didn’t even get married until they were a hundred, and then started their families.

There are going to be children born that don’t have the Mark of the Beast, and there will be others that may never have taken the mark, from our text it seems like maybe the Kings of the East never came under the authority of the Antichrist. So there could be a whole group of those people that never had the mark of the beast, yet were sinners, were in rebellion, but could perhaps turn to God. The third kind of people are the ones that give their life to the Lord during the millennial reign. One might ask, when Jesus sets up His millennial kingdom won’t he make everybody be a Christian? The answer is no. So we are going to have three kinds of people, the glorified saints, the sinners, and the born again. How do you get saved during the millennial reign? You repent of you sins, and accept Jesus as your personal Saviour. That sounds a lot like what we have to do today. The Bible says Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” The reference is to the name of Jesus Christ. It doesn’t matter if you are an Old Testament saint, New Testament church, tribulation saint, or if you are a millennial saint there is just one name that you can get saved under and that is Jesus Christ. You have to accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour, invite Him into your heart, repent of your sins. If you don’t repent of your sins, then you are a sinner and remain in rebellion against God. There are two kinds of laws during the Millennial reign. There is the law of righteousness and holiness, which means that everyone in the Kingdom of God is going to live a righteous and holy life, whether or not they are born again. Everyone will have to live right, but some may not like that. I like it because there will be little or no need for insurance. I like it, you won’t have to have any anti-gun-laws anymore, it doesn’t matter if you had a gun, you would never need to use it. Security services would have to find something else to do, because we wouldn’t need them. We won’t need lock smiths, and Glory to God we won’t need lawyers. We won’t have divorce, bankruptcy, there will be no law suites, we don’t need doctors. Just think of all the people that will need to be retrained during the millennial reign. Do you know what is nice about this, you could send your child to the corner store at three o’clock in the morning to buy you a candy bar, and not have to worry about her being raped, kidnaped or murdered? I like that. You can send your child to school and not worry about what kind of immoral things that they are now being taught. That law is going to be enforced, and the neat thing about it is the Holy Ghost knows everything that is going on. So if someone in your neighborhood is committing a crime Jesus will know it. You won’t have to worry about lengthy trials because the Holy Ghost himself will be the witness against the crime and the guilty will be punished immediately. When I grew up as a kid, you didn’t have to lock your doors. You didn’t do anything wrong, you knew that you would get caught by John Wayne, or Detective Friday, or the Royal Canadian Mounties. You knew it, it was always in the back of your head and if the police didn’t get me Superman would. But now we have educated the children out of their morals, the Ten Commandments, so they just pick up pistols, blow each other away. Teachers and educational facilities were forced to strip out the whole morality thing.
Then the verses say “And they shall build houses, and inhabit them.” If you were one of the people of this kingdom and want to know what you might be doing, you might be a carpenter. Then it says “and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them” So they are going to plant and eat the fruit. Then it goes on to say “They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. 23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them. 24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. 25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.” Notice the change of nature here, you no longer have to balance nature with carnivorous animals like lions and tigers that keep in balance the populations of animals. Everything is in perfect harmony, there is nothing that hurts or harms on the earth anymore, the children will lead around the lions and the mosquitoes will have to find a new thing to do. I wonder what is going to happen to the cockroaches? Notice he said they shall build houses and inhabit them and no other shall inhabit them, what does that mean? It means that you are going to live for a thousand years baring any tragedy, you can live in that house for a thousand years during that millennial reign, and when that short season is over, this whole earth will burst up in flames and that house will be gone and no one else would have lived there except for you. That is a whole lot different form now, just about the time you make you last payment you die, you built it and paid for it, but somebody else gets it, and then somebody else, and somebody else and so on. Some kids will fight over it, and a divorce will happen, it will get sold at an auction, isn’t that terrible. But not in the future, and plan your house well before you build it because you will live there for a thousand years, so if you want a big office then plan it well. This is a literal kingdom where people are growing food and functioning a lot like they do now accept for sin. There is another thing to look at, people are going to have children and a prophecy says Isa 60:22 “A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time”. If you start your family at the beginning of the millennial reign, and let us say your wife is in perfect health, you have lots of land, and food, theoretically you can have a child a year until the millennial reign is over with, how many children would you have, one thousand. Now suppose those children get married at about one hundred and start having children and then their kids started having children and so on, your family could reach a million people pretty quickly. Just look at Adam by the time he died how many people were on the earth and he was the father to all of them. How many were on the earth before Noah died and he was the father to them all? That is just a theoretical possibility, I don’t think the women would appreciate having that many children so close together. It is a different world. Lets look at one more verse from Isaiah before we move on Isaiah 66:22 “For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. 23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. 24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh”. Remember I said there were two laws, the first was righteousness and holiness, the second law is spiritual, you have to be saved. While the first is enforced with a rod of iron, the second one isn’t. It is simply presented to you as the gospel, just like it is presented to you today. By free moral choice and will you must decide whether you will serve the Lord Jesus Christ or not. Christ only wants people that want to be a part of the kingdom of God. He doesn’t make you get saved, he doesn’t make you live right, (in the kingdom you will live a moral life), he doesn’t make you go to church, he doesn’t make you do anything, He tells you what he wants you to do, and He sees if you love Him enough to do it. If it takes a nine-pound hammer to get you to do some of the things that he wants you to do, then you are not going to follow him. God is not going to use that hammer on you to convince you, he will use a feather duster inside your heart and say if you love me keep my commandments, and that is how he will see who loves him. It is the same in this future kingdom and a lot of people are not going to get saved, but they are going to be forced to go to church, every new moon, every Sabbath, they will come and worship before him. Do you see that part about how they will look upon the carcasses of them that came against Jesus, and the worm doesn’t die and their fire isn’t quenched? Somehow people get to see them in this condition. I will probably be traveling back and forth teaching the book of Revelation but my screen will be better, I will have some “live remotes” in the lake of fire, and telling the viewers okay we are up to this place in Bible Prophecy, and this particular prophecy hasn’t been fulfilled yet. I know it is a wonderful place and there is no crime. I need to remind you about that Tribulation and that old Antichrist, you know the reason you need to know this is because Satan is going to be loosed out of his prison for a short season, he is going to test all of you, and you need to know this so that you make a right choice when you are tempted and tried, that is the purpose because there is still prophecies to be fulfilled. I have often wondered what my role would be in the Kingdom, maybe I could teach Bible Prophecy. I have been trained I could do that job.

Every human being will appear at the Great White Throne Judgment to be judged according to their works. The only EXCEPTION to this is the Church. The Bible says that some men’s sins follow after them and some men’s sins go before them. Our sins have gone before us… there will be no White Throne Judgment for the saints who stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ daily. The Great White Throne Judgment will separate the wicked from the righteous. The wicked will be cast into the Lake of Fire, while the Righteous will enter into His Gates…
Rev 20:11-15 (KJV)
11 “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
